3G Routers for Mobile Broadband Internet Access
Use a 3G Router to share your mobile broadband connection with multple users, A 3G Router in conjunction with 3G Mobile Broadband SIM Card can provide a high speed internet connection using the 3G Mobile Phone Network thet can be used by multiple users with either a wired or wireless connection. 3G Routers work just like normal ADSL Broadband Routers, except they use the 3G network to connect to the internet instead of wires.
3G Routers are available in two distinct types, those that use a 3G USB Modem inserted into the USB port of the router, and those that have the 3G modem already embedded inside the router so that you simply insert your SIM Card.
Westlake specialises in the second type, the embedded 3G router. By using an embedded HSPA router you do not need to worry about 3G Modem compatibility issues, and in most cases you can add a high gain 3G antenna to help improve signal reception in poor 3G signal areas. We do sell a small number of 3G Modem USB Routers such as the Option Globesurfer X1 which allows you to plug in a 3G USB Dongle and share the connection wirelessley or via the Ethernet ports, but in the main we supply business grade embedded 3G Routers that also support advanced features such as ping reboot or keep alive features to ensure a reliable and permanent 3G connection for critical applications such as 3G Failover and remote monitoring and management.
PC's and other devices can connect to the 3G Router using it's built in Wireless WiFi connection, or can be connected to the router by the 10/100 LAN interface prot. As with normal broadband routers, you can connect the router to a switch if you want to connect multiple devices.
