GSM Desk Phones are a convenient way to provide mobile communications for temporary or remote workers as well as becomming an essential part of mobile extension and Virtual phone systems such as Vodafone One Net where mobile phone users become part of a phone system and can answer and transfer calls to other users, so a GSM Desk Phone provides a traditional desk phone equivalent for a worker based in a single location.

GSM Desk Phones are also popular for use as Taxi Phones, whereby a Taxi Company will install the GSM Deskphone in a convenient location to attract new customers.  The customer simply lifts the handset and they are connected to the Taxi Office and can book their cab.  By using low cost GSM Desk Phones and cheap mobile phone tariffs the Taxi companies can attract new customers easily.

When choosing your GSM Desk Phone you will need to know which network you intend to use becuase some GSM deskphones will only work on GSM networks such as O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone and Orange who operate on the 900 and 1800 Mhz (2G) frequencies.  If you need to use a Fixed Wireless Telephone (FWT) on a 3G network that operates on the 2100Mhz network frequency then you will need to use a 3G Desk Phone such as the Huawei ETS6630 which operates on both 2G (900/1800Mhz) and 3G (2100Mhz) Frequencies.  The same applies if you intend to use your deskphone with a product like Vodafone Sure Signal which is a micro base station in your home or business that operates on the 2100Mhz 3G frequency.
